Shopping Locally Makes A Difference

This concept started with San Diego moving back into the highly restrictive Purple Tier.  Heading into the holiday season, this level of restriction would be detrimental to many local makers and home based businesses who rely on local craft fairs, and markets as their primary source of income.

Running a custom gift boutique from her home, Phyllis already had the concept of “porch pick ups” down – clients would order gifts, she would make them, and set them outside on her porch for a contactless pick up.

Seeing how miserable it was at the mall, where only 2-10 people were allowed into each store – with plenty of people in line 6 feet apart in the cold, Phyllis knew that there had to be a better way to shop.  She came up with the idea of “Shop My Porch” where there is a focus on a hyperlocal economy – bringing makers together and letting neighbors and local community members shop their porches.

The best part is that we ALL benefit from a strong economy fueled by successful locally owned businesses.
